Joel Dover is the Pastor of a Calvary Chapel Fellowship in Newnan Georgia. He has served in some form of vocational ministry for the past 15 years, many of those in denominational work before affiliating with Calvary Chapel in 2014. Joel’s past ministry experiences include camp and youth ministry,evangelistic and revival preaching, traveling as the front man of a gospel preaching Christian rock band, and planting two churches. Joel has been a Senior Pastor since 2003 and began teaching at Calvary Chapel University in 2015.
Joel graduated from the University of North Carolina@ Wilmington with a B.A. in Communication Studies and Theater. He also holds both an M.A.R. and an M.Div. from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, and a D.Min. from Luther Rice Seminary.
Joel met the Lord as a child in 1987, and was fortunate to have a family that was deeply committed to church attendance, studying the scriptures, evangelism, missions, and living out the Christian faith. His parents first introduced him to Calvary Chapel by way of audio teachings that they were using as study resources for teaching their adult sunday school class.
When not teaching at Calvary Chapel Newnan, or here at Calvary Chapel University, Joel enjoys spending quality time with his family, traveling, playing the guitar, and working in his wood shop where he builds stringed folk instruments. Joel is also a small business owner, and is married to his college sweetheart Kimberly. Joel and Kimberly have three young children.
