Doc Rose has been involved in education for over 30+ years – both as a student and an instructor. He spent 15 years in school earning his B.S. in Marine Biology from Eckerd College (St.Pete, FL), a M.S. in Botany from the University of South Florida (Tampa, FL), and a Ph.D. in Biology from Florida International University (Miami, FL). His main research focus was on seagrass ecosystems in nearshore marine environments in which he has 6 peer-reviews published articles and presented at numerous scientific conferences. His career goals shifted from research to teaching, everything from private and public K-12 schools, community colleges and online universities, 5th grade through c graduate-level classes, and is currently employed full-time as a Chemistry teacher at Arkansas High School in Texarkana. He has coached soccer at the community, competitive and high school levels. WHen he has spare time (LOL), Doc Rose is also the the co-lead pastor at Community Church Texarkana (a CC affiliate). He loves missions and has led 20+ trips to Honduras, Mexico Honduras, Uganda, and Turkey, teaching apologetics, and traveling and ministering at other churches. He has been married since 1996, and he and his wife have two college-aged daughters. Their family loves traveling and doing ministry together.
