College of Biblical Studies
Mike grew up as a pastor’s kid in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a child he loved Jesus and the church. However, during his teenage years he began to distrust God’s goodness and was jaded by church politics. He decided that if Christianity was just a religion of arbitrary rules and hypocritical people, then he’d be better off without it.
It took until his early twenties to realize that God’s word is meant for our good, and that the church is intended to be a community of witnesses to God’s grace in an ungraceful world. This renewed passion for Christ and his Church led him to Bible College, where he first sensed the call to pastoral ministry.
Since that time he has been engaged in various forms of ministry, including three years as a high school Bible teacher, and five years as an assistant pastor at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa (CCCM). Mike has also taught at three different Calvary Chapel Bible College campuses, as well as the School of Worship at CCCM. He is currently the senior pastor of Image Church in Orange County, CA.
Mike’s educational background includes degrees from Calvary Chapel Bible College, Orange Coast College, Vanguard University, and Veritas Evangelical Seminary. He is also currently working on a second master’s degree from Fuller Theological Seminary.
He is married to his amazing wife Beth, and has six (that’s not a typo) wonderful children. Mike’s desire for his students is to see each person equipped to spread the love and good news of Jesus in their homes, places of work, and the community.
